SuperNews module is the best universal module for content representation. I a few words, it can be perfectly placed in the mainbody in the module context.

You have the opportunity to select content from joomla content structure Sections / Category / Content item. In addition you can use the selected items in the order yo want and present them afterwords.

Features:

Multiple content sources: You can select content from 2 sources:

• Content Sections

• Content Categories

Each source is selected by it's ID. You can select multiple sources by listing IDs separated by comma.

Universal content presentation:

You can select the number content items to be presented and there are 4 options to display each of them:

• Type 1 articles: The number of articles with title, intro and image (default 1)

• Type 2 articles: The number of articles with title and intro (default 0)

• Type 3 articles: The number of articles with title and image (default 0

• Type 4 articles: The number of articles with only title (default 0)

You have 1 more option:

• Types Order: The order of the types to display (default 1,2,3,4)

So in the combination you can have 5 options to present selected content items. More over, in the case of showing text, you can set the maximum number of text words or character to be presented.
